Including Employee Assistance
Participating institutions jointly purchase long-term disability insurance from a national insurer via a national insurance broker. Institutions can continue to structure their insurance according to their own needs. An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is an available option, and some smaller institutions that do not currently provide an EAP feature may be able to provide this benefit based on the lower consortium price. Though the group life and long-term disability programs are currently offered through the same vendors, these programs may be purchased separately if an institution so desires.
