The fall semester of 2019 is getting underway at Hood College, and there are more new students enrolled this year compared to past years. “We are welcoming our largest class of new students in the College’s history this year,” say President Andrea Chapdelaine.
She says there are 325 new first year students, 115 transfer students and 185 new graduate students. “Our students in our undergraduate classes are coming from 22 states, Puerto Rico, Washington DC, of course, as well as eight other countries. In our graduate program, we have 24 international new students,” Chapdelaine says.
The international undergraduate students come from countries in Europe, South America and Asia. “In our graduate programs, all of those areas. But also a large representation from the Middle East. They come for the computer science and the biotechnology programs that we offer,” she says.
