MICUA Matters Spring 2011
Loyola University Maryland has been named among the colleges and universities receiving the 2010 Community Engagement Classification by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. The classification recognizes institutions demonstrating a significant commitment to their communities through service, curricular engagement, partnerships, and other forms of outreach. Loyola is one of 115 institutions receiving the classification this year, and the only one in Maryland.
“Loyola’s thriving relationships with local neighbors and partners throughout the country and around the world are a critical component of our Jesuit identity and of our successful pursuit of our mission, and I am delighted our efforts have been recognized on a national level,” said Rev. Brian Linnane, S.J., the University’s president. “We will build upon our experience completing this application to identify ways to strengthen and deepen our community engagement in the years to come. |
