Maryland Institute College of Art is the oldest independent, degree-granting art college in the nation and is consistently ranked as one of the nation’s top colleges for study in the visual arts. As Maryland’s only college of art and design, MICA has contributed to whole industries in the State—graphic design, advertising, and computer game design—which have grown up around the availability of talented MICA graduates.
