MICUA Board Adopts Resolution in Support of Revenue Enhancements

On September 20, the MICUA Board of Trustees drafted a resolution encouraging Maryland’s political leaders to preserve critical State services and invest in the future health and prosperity of its citizens. The official statement was adopted after receiving briefings from key State officials on Maryland’s financial condition and the implications of a $1.7 billion budget deficit.

National Guard Members to Receive Tuition Discount

Capitol College and Villa Julie College have recently signed agreements with the Maryland National Guard offering tuition discounts at their respective institutions. They join Washington College and Loyola College in Maryland as independent colleges which provide this benefit.

MICUA Capital Projects:  Building Blocks of a Knowledge-Based Economy

In the 2008 legislative session, MICUA is requesting $11 million in capital improvement grants from the State for construction and renovation projects at four member institutions. This investment in the infrastructure of Maryland’s independent colleges and universities strengthens the building blocks of the State’s highly-touted knowledge-based economy, helping to accommodate enrollment growth, address workforce needs, and provide choice and opportunity for Maryland’s citizens.
